PAGE A12, KEIZERTIMES, FEBRUARY 25, 2022 Local woodworking shop closes after three decades After almost 34 years at its location in Keizer, S & W Woodworking, is relocat- ing and will be out of its Chemawa Road site by the end of February. Bruce Waldner, owner of S & W Woodworking, said he will operate the business out of a family home and the company’s trailer. For more than three decades Waldner and his son, Doug, have manufactured cabinets and more. As the elder Walder said, “If it’s wood, we do it.” The company not only manufactures cabinets for kitch- ens and bathrooms, but also does other work. Doug Waldner is a general con- tractor who deals in remodels, floors and finished work. The business was a beehive of activ- ity this week as he, employees and others began packing up tools and thousands of pieces of work usedin their business. Bruce Waldner said he thanks all of his customers over the years, and he had no choice but to close his Chemawa Road facility. “It’s not my fault,” he said. Iron Glory returns to KAA show coming in March River Road in Keizer Iron Glory is back on River Road for the first time since August of last year. The American flag, rendered in steel and chains was renovated with added red and blue color. Artists Ric Smith, Jordan Smith and Vonda Smith, of Smith and Steel Custom Design, placed the art at the corner of River Road N. and Juedes Ave. N., in front of V2 Dentistry. Entwined replaced Iron Glory at its original location, in front of Copper Creek Mercantile. The artists decided the flag art needed to be updated with color. The Smith family owns Smith and Steel Custom Design with a workshop on Front Street near downtown Salem. The Keizer Art Association is seeking entries for March’s juried Watercolor Show. Intake for art is on Wednesday, March 2, from 3 to 6 p.m. The show will run at the Enid Joy Mount Gallery from March 3 to March 29.
