PAGE A4, KEIZERTIMES, FEBRUARY 11, 2022 House fi re claims life of one person A two-alarm house fi re occurred shortly after midnight on Saturday, Feb. 5, taking the life of a Salem resident. Marion County Fire District #1 (MCFD1), with assistance from Salem Fire Department, Keizer Fire District and Falck Ambulance, responded to 38th and Blossom around 12:45 a.m. Marion County Sheriff ’s deputies arrived fi rst and reported the home fully involved which housed nine occupants, one which was unaccounted for. Heavy fi re conditions restricted any search and rescue attempt. Fire was con- trolled in about an hour and a victim was discovered deceased inside. It is unclear if smoke detectors were installed or working at the time of the fi re. The name of the victim is not being released at this time awaiting family notifi - cations. The cause of the fi re remains under investigation in a joint eff ort with MCFD1, Oregon State Police and the Oregon State Fire Marshall.
