some easy looks.”
“They were the right shots. Most
of them were open. We just got to hit
them,” Copeland added.
Despite some of the team’s off en-
sive woes, Kirch praised the play of
Roth. The junior shooting guard was
6-of-11 from the fi eld and hit a pair of
3-pointers.
“That was the best game he has
played. He can certainly score the
ball, but it was a matter of reading the
defense and being under control with
his body. You could see his athleticism,
his length and the diff erent ways he was
able to score,” Kirch said.
Even after defeats in their fi rst two
conference games, Kirch believes his
team is on the brink of success.
“I was impressed with our com-
petitiveness and toughness. With the
exception of a couple little areas, we are
right there. We just have to keep getting
better and keep trusting one another.
The loss is disappointing, but we have
defi nitely seen some progress over the
last couple games,” Kirch said.
