WE HAVE MOVED >>> Our new location is 4157 Cherry Avenue, Keizer <<< 503-362-5611 obituary Marcella “Sally” Oldenburg May 23, 1933 - Dec. 27, 2021 Marcella “Sally” Oldenburg, was born May 23, 1933 and raised in Velva, N. D.. She died Dec. 27, 2021. She graduated high school in 1951 and came by train to visit Oregon as a high school graduation gift from her parents. She met her sweetheart, Jerry Oldenburg, at a Grange Hall dance in Aumsville on July 4, 1952. They were married April 5, 1953 in Salem. Sally worked at Sears for 23 years. She raised three children, Sandy, Debbie and Donald. Sally is the grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of nine. Sally lived in Albany, Silverton and then Keizer, just blocks from the Keizer School, from 1960 to 2008. We celebrated Sally’s 75th birthday at Yellowstone National Park in 2008. In 2013 we celebrated Sally’s 80th birthday with many friends and family at the Keizer Cultural Center (the old Keizer School). Sally enjoyed canning, her family, grandkids, sewing, square dancing, boating and camping. She traveled across MARCELLA “SALLY” OLDENBURG the U.S. on Route 66 in a fifth wheel and had many travels abroad with her oldest daughter and son-in-law. She sold the homestead in 2008 and moved to Seal Rock, Ore. living in a fifth wheel on her son’s property through 2014. She moved to an apartment in Sandy, Ore. until 2020, when she moved to Newport and lived in an assisted living apartment. Marcella, Sally, Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma and friend touched many lives with her beautiful smile and generous heart. Graveside services will be at Claggett Cemetery in Keizer at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8. A Celebration of Life will be held directly after services at The Hitchin’ Post. crossword answers pg A20
