Meithof off to scorching start to begin college career
In his fi rst six collegiate games,
Nate Meithof has become a star for
Westmont College in Santa Barbara,
Calif.
The former McNary shooting guard
leads the team in scoring, averaging
more than 20 points and fi ve rebounds
per game and helping Westmont get
off to a 6-0 start.
On Wednesday Nov. 10 Meithof
poured in 28 points on 10-of-18 shoot-
ing (4-for-8 from beyond the arc) to
help the Warriors to a 96-80 win over
La Sierra.
"Nate led the brigade," said Westmont
head coach Landon Boucher. "Nate let
the game come to him, especially in the
fi rst handful of minutes. He was getting
everyone involved, and as the half went
on, he took the game over.”
"He did it in a number of ways,
too. He was fi nding his teammates, he
was making tough shots, and he was
defending hard. It says he had fi ve
assists, but I'm telling you he had a ton
of hockey-assists too. He made so many
great passes to fi nd an open man who
immediately found another man for an
easy look."
In his most recent contest, Meithof
scored 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting,
leading Westmont to a 96-80 win over
Occidental.
