PAGE A8, KEIZERTIMES, AUGUST 20, 2021 Notes from the Keizer Parks Board meeting The Keizer Parks Advisory Committee met Tuesday, Aug. 10. Here is what was discussed: • KRA Bands. Melissa Potts and Johnny Wheels and the Swamp Donkeys both approved for concert series. • Matt Lawyer and David Louden are the two Parks Board members who were appointed to serve on the City Sponsored Concert Series Selection Committee • The board approved the location for Didier Planell’s mosaic: on the insides of the concrete benches surrounding the splash grassroots gov't fountain. They only approved the site. There is no money right now. It is expected that the Keizer Arts Public Arts Commission will raise the funds. This is a KPAC project. • On Monday, Sept. 13, the Parks Board will tour: Claggett Creek Park, Northview Park and Palma Ciea Park. • Appearance by citizens: Peggy Moore BUSINESS AND spoke about the Peggy and Roy Moore Garden. The garden received a grand from Keizer United to purchase a small cultivator (rototiller) to help prepare the ground as needed. Gardeners will be trained in how to use the machine. • Herb barrels are blooming. There have been seminars on how to make infused but- ter, oils and vinegars from the fresh herbs. • Garden received $100 grant from Copper Creek Mercantile for organic fertilizer.
