MYB team celebrated Camarena named director
at Volcanoes Stadium of Mid-Valley Soccer Club
Mid Valley Soccer Club announced the hiring of Miguel Camarena as the new execu-
tive director of the club on Saturday, July 31. Camarena is the boys soccer coach at McNary
High and works at the school as a behavioral specialist.
Miguel is from Guadalajara, Mexico. As a soccer player he played professionally for 12
years.
In Mexico he played for Chivas, Tecos, Tecoman, and Tapatio, and in the U.S. he played
for the Cascade Surge, Yakima Reds, and New Orleans Riverboat Gamblers.
He has coached for 29 years, including three years at Silverton High school. He is the
former head coach of the PDL Cascade Surge, Tecos Oregon, and Club Pachuca-Portland
in Hillsboro.
He holds an “A” coaching license from USSF (United States Soccer Federation) the
highest pro coaching license in the USA and he has been the boys soccer coach at McNary
for the past 20 years.

The McNary Youth Baseball minor national team was celebrated at
Volcanoes Stadium on Sunday, Aug. 1 for taking second place in the County
tournament.
