A Marion County Grand Jury unani-
mously found that Keizer police offi cers
Jeremy Darst, Scott Keniston, Chad Fahey,
Michael Kowash and Sergeant Kevin
DeMarco were justifi ed in their use of
deadly force against Sean Beck on July 28.
The same grand jury indicted Sean K.
Beck, date of birth 9/29/73, for:
• Attempted Aggravated Murder
with a Firearm (two counts)
• Manslaughter in the First Degree
• Unlawful Use of a Weapon
with a Firearm (fi ve counts)
• Theft in the First Degree (three counts)
• Felon in Possession of a Firearm
(three counts)

The Grand Jury’s fi ndings stem
from an incident that began at approx-
imately 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July
28, when Keizer Police responded to a

behind the VCA Veterinary Hospital,
located at 4815 River Rd. N. in Keizer.
Upon arriving at the scene, offi cers

makes debut at Keizer

Keizer Homegrown Theater (KHT)
is often used to putting on adapta-
tions of classical plays and shows. But
next week, KHT will feature a brand
new show written by Maeve O'Connor
— professionally known as Maeve Z.
The world premiere of the psy-
chological thriller Omission, will
be debuting at KHT Aug. 19-21 with
performances taking place on the
outside patio behind the Keizer
Cultural Center, next to Keizer City
Hall. Each show will begin at 7 p.m. —
the play is intended for teens and up
due to content and language.
Tickets are $15 and can be pur-
chased at the door or on the KHT (keiz-
erhomegrowntheatre.org). Seating is
limited and guests are encouraged to
bring their own lawn chairs.
