SATURDAY, JULY 31: Campesinos 11 Volcanoes 4 Just like the Senators did earlier in the day, the Campesinos used a seven-run sev- enth inning to defeat the Volcanoes 11-4. Nick Ybarra knocked in three runs for the Campesinos and Colby Nealy struck out 12 over seven innings to get the win on the hill. The Campesinos scored a pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the third to take a 2-1 lead. The Volcanoes got back on top after a two-run blast by Drew Schutt in the top of the fourth, but the Campesinos tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom half of the frame on a solo homer from Eric Kozak. Both teams went scoreless in the fifth and the sixth innings, but in the bottom of the seventh, the Campesinos put the game out of reach. A two-run single by Trevor Morrison broke the tie, making the score 5-3. Sergio Rey soon followed with a RBI-hit of his own. After Rey scored on a wild pitch, Ybarra delivered a three-run blast to put the Campesinos up 10-4. SUNDAY, AUG. 1: Campesinos 10 Volcanoes 3 The Campesinos pulled off the three- game sweep with their 10-3 win over the Volcanoes. Trevor Morrison was 2-for-4 with five RBIs and the Campesinos four pitchers sur- rendered just two earned runs for the game. With the Volcanoes up 1-0 in the third, Morrison gave his team a command- ing lead with a grand slam, putting the Campesinos on top 4-1. SUNDAY, AUG. 1: Mavericks 15 Senators 8 The Mavericks had 13 hits and took advantage of three Senators errors to get the 15-8 win and clinch the series. Drake Zarate knocked in three runs while Parker Swindell, Alex Emerson and Andrew Castano each had two RBIs for the Mavericks. Despite giving up 10 hits over six innings, Ethan Rosebeck limited the Senators to four runs to get the win. After the Mavericks scored a pair of unearned runs in the top of the first, the Senators came back to tie the game in the second inning. But the Mavericks responded in the third with four runs, thanks to RBI-hits by Swindell, Jacob Childers and Julian Hunt. The Senators cut the lead to 6-5 after seven innings, but in the top of the eighth, the Mavericks put up five runs to take con- trol of the contest, highlighted by a three- run homer by Zarate.
