Where and how
do you volunteer?
"I try to make myself available
as needed. Whether it be locally
focused at the Keizer Chamber or
events like Wake the World."
Why do you
volunteer?
"Brian (husband) and I took time
awhile back to look at groups we
were supporting … We educated
ourselves on how the money
was spent and who touched it.
We realized we wanted to make
an impact on our youth in the
community and our community
in general. So that is what got me
involved in actually volunteering
with organizations that are making
a diff erence in our community."
How would you get
others to volunteer
in their community?
"For the fi rst time I am a Keizer
Chamber Board member. I took
on chairing the Keizer Network
of Women or K.N.O.W.. We work
with the community, with schools,
shelters, the business community
and local women in business
to help create opportunities for
youth and those in need … We are
currently working on our annual
Keizer Chamber KNOW Percey
event. I have headed and worked
at our school's auctions also. If you
have never volunteered and need
help, feel free to call us anytime.
What really works is to fi nd what
makes you passionate and help
in that area. Whether it be in your
community, with kids, at parks or
any other passion you may have.
There is a place for you and the
need is real!"
