BOARD,
Continued from page A9
discussion about the club’s fundraising.
Board members gave reports on the
parks they each oversee. Karstetter
asked Robert Johnson if a fence at
Meadows Park, damaged during
January’s ice storm is on the sched-
ule to be repair, Johnson said it was.
Karstetter also reported a loose handle
on the play equipment at the park.
Robert Johnson’s staff report: path-
way paving upgrades are underway at
Country Glen Park; concrete stairs at
Northview Terrace have been installed.
The splash fountain at Chalmers Jones
Park at the civic center has been oper-
ating, though there is a chlorine short-
age, Johnson has been able to purchase
smaller containers, but supplies are
running out. There’s a possibility the
fountain could be closed in the near
future while the Parks Department
seeks more chlorine.
Robert Johnson responded to a
question from Tanya Hamilton from a
previous board meeting if water pump
stations along the Willamette River
could become parks. He said it was pos-
sible but it was a city council decision.
Signs have been posted at city parks
prohibiting cooking fi res due to the
high fi re danger.
Who was there: Chair Dave Louden,
Gwen Carr, Wayne Frey, Tanya
Hamilton, Dustin Karstetter, Matt
Lawyer, Michael Pantalone, Matthew
Poteet, Clay Rushton. City Council
Liaison Roland Herrera.
