Salem sculpture artist Jim Johnson had his fourth piece
of art selected as part of the Keizer Public Art program
recently.
The metalwork piece featuring a bald eagle and stand-
ing about 8-foot tall was installed Monday at the northwest
corner of the Chemawa Road North and River Road North.
Johnson’s other works along River Road include Blind
Date, on the southwest corner of the Chemawa-River inter-
section. Praise at the Keizer Plaza shopping center and
Guardian, a dragon, in front of Abby’s Legendary Pizza.

Marion County is currently develop-
ing a five-year plan for housing, commu-
nity development, and infrastructure.
The plan will guide investment policy
and actions such as housing, economic
development, public services, public
facility and infrastructure investments
over the next several years.
Residents can take a survey on hous-
ing and development at tinyurl.com/
mcdev21.
The planning process is intended
to more comprehensively fulfill three
basic goals: to provide decent housing,
to expand economic opportunities, and
to provide a suitable living environ-
ment. The plan depends on the opin-
ions and experiences of people who
are knowledgeable about housing and
community development in Marion
County.
