Mitchell David Boysen
August 10, 1987 – March 23, 2021
Mitchell David Boysen was born in
Eugene on Aug. 10, 1987, and died too
soon at the age of 33 on March 23, 2021,
in Keizer. Mitch graduated from Newberg
High School in 2005. He excelled in a
career as a HVAC technician and loved
what he did. He was good at his job and
felt great pride in this. He made connec-
tions wherever he went, both profession-
ally and personally. He was social and
what you'd call a "people person." His
latest talent was in the area of smoked
meats. He knew just the right combi-
nation of spices, pellets and love that
went into his food. He was generous and
would often bring his latest concoction to
share with family and friends. He enjoyed
spending hours crabbing at the beach.
Mitch had an intense loyalty to his
friends, and his humor was enjoyed by all.
The biggest void will be left in his beau-
tiful daughter, Rose. They were the best
of friends and had the most fun adven-
tures together. They loved to go to the
park, throw rocks in the river, play Barbie
endlessly and do science experiments
together. He loved her to the moon and
back. He also jumped in to take care of
Kylie like his own child. The loss of this
kind and big-hearted man extends far
into the community through all the con-
nections he made in his life. His smile
and loving heart will be missed by so
many. He was so much more than we can
express in words. We would like to thank
Local 1660 Firefi ghters and Tualatin
Valley Fire and Rescue for all their sup-
port during this time. Also, thanks to

Mitch is survived by his parents, Bret
and Demi Boysen; daughter, Rose; sister,
Marissa (Jared) Jenkins; niece, Brinsley;
nephew, Maverick; grandparents Bob and

Brenda Boysen, Bill (Barbara) French and
Debbie French; aunts Tammy (Charles)
Wilhoite, Nena (Paul) Andrews and
Dawn Hunnicutt; uncle, Steve (Robyn)
French; cousins Shola, Hadley, Dorsey,
Chase, Cassidy, Payton, Dillon, Kayla
and Brittany; and many more family who
loved him.

Richard Klug, 81, of Mesa, Ariz.,
passed away at home on March 2, 2021.
Richard was born Sept. 29, 1939
in Yankton, S.D., to Owen and Else
(Jensen) Klug. He graduated from
South Salem High School in 1958.
Richard enlisted in the United States
Marine Corps Reserve on his 17th birth-
day and served until his honorable dis-
charge in 1967.
Richard married Joyce Irwin in
Salem in Aug. 1960. They had four sons,
Trent, Keith, Scott, and Mark. He had
a 24-year career with Boise Cascade,
eventually retiring from the company
in 1985. Richard became involved for
many years in the Salem-Keizer sports
community coaching Boys Club foot-
ball and Keizer Senior League baseball.
Richard and Joyce divorced in July
1985.
Richard met Tommie Jenyns in 1991
and were married in October 1992.
Richard gained two
step-children, David
and Michelle. He had
his own remodeling
and roofi ng business
in Salem for almost
15 years. After spend-
ing several years in
Lebanon,
Richard
and Tommie settled
in Mesa, Ariz.
Richard
truly
loved his wife, and
was devoted to his
family, coaching and
being involved with
the American Legion.
He was preceded
in death by his par-
ents, sisters Gloria
and Deborah, son
Mark.
He is survived by
his wife Tommie; his
brother Kirk (Rhonda), his sons Trent
(Shannon) of Silverton; Keith (Diane) of
Huber Heights, Ohio; Scott (Christi) of
Keizer, David of Los Angeles, Michelle
of Mesa, Ariz., and fi ve grandchildren.
