Local members of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Lat-
ter-day Saints donated more
than 1,000 toys to the Salvation
Army during Project Rescue
Christmas 2020 this year.
A challenge was issued
Dec. 5 to donate 950 toys in
nine days. After many calls and
emails, church members ex-
ceeded the goal. Throughout
Oregon, church members con-
tributed more than 10,000 toys.
“It has been a blessing for us
to meet our goal and a blessing
to so many kids who will have
something for Christmas,” said
Dan Kohler, spokesperson for
the church.
