Active Together

creative strategies for families
to be physically active, includ-
ing those with limited time.
Discussion will include
looking at different options
for movement and discuss
ways to get and stay moti-
vated. Participants will learn
effective, practical strategies

family fi tness goals.
Sessions are available Friday,

This session will look at
what parents have learned

Preserving Childhood in
2020: Stress and
Resiliency in Children
This session looks at how
our lives are looking much
different due to the pandemic
and natural disasters that have
put even more strain on our
everyday stressors. Children
are experiencing this weird-
ness as well, which begs the
question, “How can we pro-
tect our children and their
childhood when there is so
much uncertainty and un-
rest?”

The Keizer Network of
Women (KNOW) will hold
a drive-through food drive at
Gubser Elementary School this
weekend, 6 to 10 p.m. Friday,
Saturday and Sunday nights, to
benefi t the group’s annual Giv-
ing Basket program.
The food drive will be con-
ducted with all COVID safety
protocols in place including
masks, social distancing and
contactless collection.
In year’s past the Giving
Basket program has received
food donations from the fi rst

keting yourself in new ways

There is one session avail-
able on Friday, Dec. 11 from
6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Volunteers will be needed
to sort through donated food
and wrap gifts for the Keizer
Network of Women and Keiz-
er Chamber of Commerce’s
annual giving basket program
next week.
Food sorting will take place
on Wednesday, Dec. 9, and gift
wrapping on Thursday, Dec. 10.
Both events will be held in
a vacant space at Keizer Village
Shopping Center next to The
Chicken Shack. The fun begins
at 6 p.m. both nights.
COVID precautions will be
taken, such as social distancing,
wearing masks and potentially
even gloves. There is no max-
imum number of people who
can attend, but because of so-
cial distancing they may have
to turn volunteers away if they
run out of room, even so they
encourage people to come.
“We can’t do this without
the community,” said Danielle
Bethell, director of the Keizer
Chamber of Commerce.
