Modified community dinner planned 3 stabbed in
The Keizer Community Dinner
will return Wednesday, May 27, but
with several changes in place.
This time around, meals will be
served to-go from 4 until 6 p.m. or
until the food runs out. The meal
site will remain the same, St. Ed-
ward Catholic Church, 5303 River
Road N.
“We will be having people en-
ter at the traffic light [at Sandy
Drive North] and drive around the
complex where we will provide
take out dinners, handing them
to people in their cars,” said Dan
Kohler, a member of the dinner
south Keizer
committee.
There will be attendants on site
to help direct the flow of traffic.
Thrivent Financial team mem-
bers will be serving dinner this
month.
The plan is to continue to serve
community dinners in this format
until orders put in place to limit
the spread of COVID-19 are eased.
“We know this will be a devia-
tion from past dinners and we will
be losing one of the great blessings
of the meal, getting to visit and get
to know friends and neighbors,”
Kohler said.
On May 9, at about 10:47
p.m., Keizer Police officers
responded to a report of a
stabbing that occurred in the
4000 block of Holly Court
N.E.
Three male subjects, a
17-year-old and two 18-year-
olds, all Salem residents, sus-
tained stab wounds and were
transported to Salem Health
THE
for treatment.
Police officials do not be-
lieve there is a greater threat
to the public and detectives
are continuing to investigate
the incident.
Anyone with information
about this case is asked to
contact Det. Andy Phelps at
503- 856-3497.
