Offi cer Dan Carroll, a 14- year veteran of the Keizer Police Department (KPD), was initially diagnosed in May 2019, but a series of escalat- ing head- aches sent him back to Salem Hos- pital in De- cember. Tests found that the cancer had entered Ofc. Carroll his spinal fl u- id, said Windie Carroll, Dan’s wife. Windie updated supporters on a GoFundMe page Saturday, Feb. 1. “The doctors have no options to help him any longer here in Salem, but they did research on a cancer center in Seattle that does proton therapy which possibly could help,” Windie wrote. HOWALD Of the Keizertimes Anyone who has driven through Keizer at night in recent months, especially on River Road North, might have had some trouble determining whether they are maintaining the proper lane. Here’s the good news: Your eyes aren’t failing you. The bad news? It might be a while before it’s fi xed. “It’s true that the lines are diffi cult to see at times, especially if it’s wet,” said City Manager Chris Eppley during a “ We’re working on it, but it’s going to be a while. Whether it's working countless hours at a conces- sion stand during a McNary sporting event with her hus- band, Dave, speaking at the school's College and Ca- reer Center or being present during a new production at Ken Collins Theater, Ready loves being there for kids. “We just love supporting kids. We loving seeing the people we know and the peo- ple's kids we know succeed, fail, learn and grow. There's nothing better than that,” Ready said.
