Santa hitched a ride with crews from the Keizer
Fire District to deliver candy canes throughout the city
Saturday, Dec. 21. Marion County Fire District No.
1 helped Santa deliver peppermint to its part of the
Keizer.

Free lunches served next week
The Salem-Keizer Public
School District will offer free
lunch for students of all ages
(1-18) regardless of house-
hold income during winter
break on the following days
Monday, Dec. 30, Wednesday,
Jan.1 and Thursday Jan. 2 from
noon to 1 p.m.
Lunch is available at Can-
dalaria, Miller, Cummings,
Weddle, Harritt, Faye Wright,
Kennedy and Yoshikai ele-
mentary schools.

Keizer Troop 121 will recycle Christmas trees as a fundraiser
the last weekend of December and the fi rst weekend January.
Trees can be picked up or dropped off Dec. 28-29 and Jan.
4-5. Times are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., except for Jan 5 when times are
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $10 for both
pick-up and drop off service.
A drop off location will be established at the Keizer branch of
US Bank, 5110 River Road N. For those unable to deliver their
trees, Troop 121 will pick-up up your Christmas tree. To arrange
for the troop to pick up your Christmas tree, call or text 503-
877-4285. Requests can also be made online at keizertroop121.
com.
No fl ocked trees will be accepted.
A. Be very careful to only recycle the things on your hauler’s approved list.
