3 schools placed on lockdown
Cops swarm to
Celtic campus
after spotting of
suspect with gun
police cars swarmed to the
campus. McNary
High
School and Cummings and
Keizer Elementary schools
were all put into lockdown
of some sort as police
conducted an armed search
and interviewed the student
who notifi ed police by text
message.
At McNary, students
remained inside classrooms
while police searched the
building but found nothing
to indicate the suspect
entered the building.
The witness described
Three Keizer schools were
put into lockdown after a
student reported seeing a
person in the parking lot
with a bat in one hand and a
possible rifl e in the other.
The
incident
began
about 8:15 a.m. and Keizer

pulled up over the suspect’s
head.

was found in the area around
the football fi eld, but there
was unclear as to whether it
might be connected to the

was lifted about 9:20 a.m.,
but police were continuing
to search the area.

In-N-Out Burger put up its signature signs on their new location in Keizer Station. The
company also recently started hiring staff for the restaurant. Opening is expected
sometime in the next month or so.

Chemeketa Community College’s new
truck driving program will enable students
to gain knowledge and skills needed to earn
their commercial driver license (CDL) in
four weeks.
The program will prepare students for tak-
ing the state exam as well as meet new state
and federal requirements for certifi cation,
which will involve 160 hours of classroom
