Kitchen fi re damages Ocean Sushi KPD’s ‘kilo: zero-one-three’
On Thursday, June 30, the
Keizer Fire Department (KFD)
responded to a fi re that took
place at Ocean Sushi and Teri-
yaki Restaurant (3843 River
Rd N).
KFD received the call at 5:50
a.m. and fi refi ghters were on
the scene at 5:55 a.m., fi nding
heavy smoke coming from the
two-story commercial building
Salem Fire Department
(SFD) and Marion County Fire
Department (MCFD) also re-
sponded to the call.
Firefi ghters found the fi re in
the kitchen after making it into
the building.
The rest of the downstairs
had heavy smoke damage and
upstairs just had minor smoke
damage.
The cause of the fi re was
due to an electrical issue, ac-
cording to KFD Fire Marshal
Ann-Marie Storms.
Four engines, two medic
units, one latter truck and one
Battalion Chief were on the
call, with a total of 19 fi refi ght-
ers.
The fi re was put out with no
one injured.
