Fitness stations could
be in place by mid-June

New fi tness equipment des-
tined for two Keizer parks has
been ordered and is expected
to be ready for use by mid-
June, said the Keizer business-
man leading the charge.
Jeff Davis, who has devel-
oped and helped fund the proj-
ect, provided an update to the
Keizer Parks Advisory Board at
its meeting Tuesday, April 9.
Davis said the equipment
will arrive in about a month
and he hopes to have it up an
drunning by the second week
of June.
“I am going to head out
with Robert [Johnson, Keizer’s
parks supervisor,] soon to fi g-
ure out the best location and
Mark Caillier is going to help
coordinate getting the pads put
down,” Davis said.
Claggett Creek Park will
receive a tamper-proof seven-
station multigym, produced by
Outdoor-Fit Exercise Systems.
The single piece of equipment
enables users to do regular or
assisted chin-ups and dips, knee
KT on vacation
raises, back extensions, squats,
push-ups and calf raises. Coun-
try Glen Park will be the re-
cipient of a set-up of high and
low chin up and push-up bars
along with two box stations
that could be used in a variety
of ways.
The Rotary Club of Keizer
is backing Davis’ plans with
$25,000 over the next two
years and the project received
a $7,800 matching grant from
the parks board. The value of
the two projects slated this year
is about $28,000.
