North Salem got its fi rst
win of the season, defeating
rival McKay 52-31 last Friday.
The Vikings scored all six of
their offensive touchdowns on
the ground.
Teyden Ysasaga led the of-
fense, fi nishing with 118 yards
rushing and two touchdowns
on 12 carries.
Ysasaga also caught a pass
for 30 yards.
Travis Hardy rushed for two
touchdowns.
Clint Pfeifer and Ian Carlos
also got into the end zone.
Jason Carter-Varay returned
an interception for a touch-
down for the second time this
season.
Quarterback Zac Sullivan
completed fi ve of seven passes
for 111 yards.
North Salem (1-4) hosts
West Albany on Friday, Oct. 5
at 7 p.m. McKay (0-5) plays at
Corvallis.
Bend 34
South Salem 24
South Salem (2-3) jumped
out to a 10-0 lead in the fi rst
quarter but Bend (4-1) scored
three touchdowns in an explo-
sive fourth quarter to complete
the comeback.
Bend took its fi rst lead, 14-
10, on a 35-yard touchdown
run in the third quarter and
then added a 4-yard run to
go ahead 21-10 early in the
fourth.
But the Saxons answered
with a Ryan Rickman 2-yard
run and 63-yard pass from Eli-
jah Enomoto-Haole to Trey-
den Harris to retake the lead,
24-21, with 5:54 remaining.
However, the Lava Bears
had the last laugh, scoring two
touchdowns in the fi nal 3:31
on runs of 12 and 40 yards.
Enomoto-Haole completed
16 of 31 passes for 239 yards,
two touchdowns and an inter-
ception. Harris caught seven
passes for 157 yards. Rickman
rushed for 99 yards on 13 car-
ries.
The Saxons play at West Sa-
lem on Friday, Oct. 5 at 7:15

West Salem (2-3) dug itself
too big of a hole, falling behind
28-0 in the fi rst half.
Anthony Gould started the
comeback, returning a kickoff
98 yards for a touchdown at
the end of the second quarter
and then catching a 22-yard
touchdown pass to begin the
third.
After Thompson and Gould
connected for a 53-yard
touchdown with 3 minutes re-
maining, the Titans recovered
an onside kick. But West Salem
couldn’t complete the come-
back.
The Titans missed an extra
point and made one of three
two-point conversions.
Gould caught 11 passes for
183 yards and the two scores.
Thompson completed 20 of
32 passes for 255 yards and two
touchdowns.

from the onset, jumping out to
a 24-0 lead at halftime.
Chris Sharp got the Olym-
pians on the scoreboard with a
54-yard touchdown run in the
third quarter.
Tyeson Thomas then caught
a 17-yard touchdown pass
from Ethan Flanigan in the
fourth quarter.
Flanigan completed six of
eight passes for 92 yards.
Sharp rushed for 83 yards
on 15 carries.
