Colored pencils dazzle at KAA reception
The Colored Pencil Soci-
ety of America’s district chap-
ter 201 held its annual awards
presentation and artist recep-
tion at Keizer Art Association’s
(KAA) Enid Joy Mount Gal-
lery. on Saturday, March 31.
This is the sixth year KAA has
hosted the show.
Sorry Charlie, a rendering
of a bear fi shing in a river was
named best in show. The artist
is Sue Horwath of Centralia,
WA.
Other ribbon award win-
ners were:
• 1st place: Fogarty Creek by
Pat Averill, Oregon City
• 2nd place: Can We Go Now
by Donna Lee, Brownsville
• 3rd place: Once Upon a
Time by CJ Worlein, Beaverton
• 4th place: After the Hay
(study) by Rachael Oehler,
Corvallis
• 1st merit award: Better Get
a Ladder by Vicky Vickery, Mt.
Angel
• 2nd merit award: Spring is
in the Air by Teresa Allen, Mc-
Minnville
• 3rd merit award: Transfor-
mation of Daphne by Dee Wag-
oner, Beaverton
• 4th merit award: Weeds by
Richard Hemlock, Portland
The Colored Pencil Soci-
ety of America is a non-profi t
organization dedicated to art-
ists working in the medium
of color pencil. The Society
has more than 1,800 members
throughout North America
and the world.
The show will continue at
Enid Joy Mount Gallery in the
Keizer Cultural Center, at 980
Chemawa Rd. NE through
April 29.
