The Salem-Keizer Volca-
noes have knocked one out of
the park with McNary Youth
Baseball T-ball players and
their coaches.
“The Volcanoes have com-
mitted to providing 120 shirts
to our free T-ball program,”
said Bo Lane, MYB vice-pres-
ident. “The shirts will have
the Volcanoes’ logo on front.
To say the kids are excited is
quite the understatement.”
The free coed T-ball pro-
gram started as a “thank you”
to the community for sup-
porting the club’s recent name
change from the Keizer Youth
Sports Association to McNary

“The free T-ball program
is a great way to get children
involved in the sport at a for-
mative age,” said Jerry Walker,
owner of the Volcanoes, Keiz-
er’s minor league team and an
affiliate of the San Francisco
Giants since its inception in
1997. “We are very happy to
be associated with this terrific
program.”
MYB provides “a whole-
some environment for youth
in grades K-8 to participate in
baseball and softball activities,
developing “good sportsman-
ship through a competitive
spirit.”
The club’s mission is to
provide opportunities for per-
sonal growth and develop-
ment of young athletes while
reinforcing positive influences,
self-confidence and self-es-
teem.
“McNary Youth Baseball
depends on the generosity of
its donors to fulfill its mission,”
said Ryan Walsh, president of
MYB. “The Salem-Keizer
Volcanoes donation will help
ensure that every young player
will have the best baseball ex-
perience this coming spring.”
