The winner of the Keizer
Holiday Card contest has
been chosen.
Addison Symington, 10,
will have her rendering of
the Christmas tree at Walery
Plaza grace the front of this
year’s city holiday card.
Addison attends Clear
Lake Elementary. In her
spare time she enjoys read-
ing, drawing, art and craft
projects, and spending time
with her family and friends.
She loves outdoor activities
and pretty much all animals.
She has a pet hamster named
Lola.
She is the second of fi ve
children and loves her family.
She lives with her mom and
four siblings in Keizer.
Addison received a cer-
tifi cate and a $100 Michael’s
gift card in exchange for the
right to use her artwork. She
was honored during the an-
nual tree lighting ceremony
Tuesday, Dec. 5.

time for outlines. “See, when
I take out that black brush
and get a little black on there,
everything pops.”
After that’s done, she takes
a step back to take it all in.
“It’s really all about spacing,”
she remarked. “I kinda make it
look like Christmas cards.”

approached while painting
windows by individuals who
suggested she should do henna.
She looked into it and began
teaching herself by watching
YouTube videos. “It was like I
had a knack for it,” she said.
Palmer’s shop in Seaside is
called Five Star Henna, and
she encourages anyone with
an interest to stop by next time
they visit the Oregon coast.
“I started out that summer
with a little table, now I have a
1,300-square-foot building in
Seaside,” she said.
