There will be multiple opportunities
for families to keep their kids busy this
spring break.
Here are some of the options
available locally:
The
Willamette
Heritage Center is
offering spring break
deals and activities for
kids and families.
• There’s a $15 family
admission pass, where
people can bring up to
two adults and three children. This
is happening between March 27 and
April 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• The WHC will lead a hunt for
clues of Shaun the Shorn Sheep from
March 27 to March 31. Download
a free spring break passport to fun
from the WHC website and stroll the
grounds of the Oregon State Capital
for clues. The searches will go from 10
a.m. to 5 p.m. The scavenger hunt is
free.
• WHC is also offering museum
after hours. On March 27, the Heritage
Center is staying open late. Tours will
be held as well as behind-the-scenes
looks and fun activities for guests of all
ages. The event will go from 5:30 p.m.
to 8:30 p.m. Cost for adults will be $8,
seniors (65+) $7, $5 for students, and
$4 for youth (6-17). Admission is free
for WHC members and children 5 and
under.
• Wind, water, and wool activities
will also be an option. These are drop-
in activities, so no pre-registration is
needed. The classes are open to children
ages six to 13. The wind activity will
involve exploring wind and creating
unique fl ying objects. It’s on March
28 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The water
activity teaches kids how water is used
to power the mill and how to be good
stewards of this available resource.
The activity is on March 29 from 10
a.m. to 1 p.m. On March 30, kids can
participate in the wool activity, where
they will get to learn about wool and
use it to create fun crafts. It goes from
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost for each
activity (wind, water, and wool) is $3
for WHC members and $5 for non-
members.
For more information on the WHC
spring break activities, go to the WHC
website at willametteheritage.org.
