Santa, Snowman come to Keizer
City Dance Theater delivered two
performances of The Snowman’s Dance in the
Ken Collins Theater at McNary High School on
Saturday, Dec. 3.
The show, in it’s 11th year, featured 165
kids, ages 2-18, from all over Salem-Keizer
doing ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and
contemporary dance while playing everything
from tapping reindeer to hip hopping Santas to
baby snowfl akes.

City volunteers appointed
The Keizer City Council
approved the following ap-
pointments to city advisory
boards at its meeting Monday,
Dec. 5:
• Maritza Gonzalez was
named to the Keizer Public
Art Commission. Her term
began with the appointment
and will extend through June
2019.
• Joe Tilman and Cath-
erina Gaynor will join the
Keizer Parks and Recreation
Advisory board as new mem-
bers beginning Dec. 31 and
continue through December
2019. Dylan Juran was reap-
pointed for a second term, his
appointment will expire at the
same time.
• Kathy Lincoln and Hersch
Sangster were reappointed
to the Traffi c, Bikeways and
Pedestrian Committee. They
will serve through December
2019.

Holiday concert Dec. 14
The Keizer Community
Band will perform its 3rd
Annual Holiday Concert
Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Keizer
Civic Center, 930 Chemawa
Road N.E., at 7 p.m.
The free concert will fea-
ture the Keizer Community
Band, directed by Michael
Koenig.
The 45-member Keizer
Community band is made up
of volunteer musicians from
Keizer, Salem and surround-
ing communities.
The family friendly con-
cert will feature carols, holiday
favorites and a special sing–
along fi nale.
