Mail carriers collecting food May 14
Saturday, May 14, is a day dedicated to
stamping out hunger, hosted by the National
Association of Letter Carriers (NALC). Earlier
in the week letter carriers left a yellow bag in
mail boxes for food donations.
Members of the NALC ask their postal cus-
tomers to donate what they can, place non-
perishable food items in the yellow bag and
leave by the mailbox for pick-up on May 14.
The food collected will be donated to Mar-
ion-Polk Food Share and its participating food
pantries.
