Mo’s clam chowder sales
support MHS grad party
An unstoppable visitor
Organizers of the annual McNary High School graduation
party are seeking donors and volunteers to assist in the the plan-
ning of this year’s party.
The McNary All-Night Grad party is a drug-free, safe alter-
native for graduates to celebrate with their friends after making
the big walk. Last year, more than 200 grads attended the event.
Graduating classes are typically around 400 to 450 students.
The party is completely run by the parents, local businesses
and individuals who give both their time and fi nancial support
to make it a success. The Celtic Celebration Committee is con-
tinuously looking for both fi nancial support and parents to help
in any way they can.
Organizers are currently selling Mo’s clam chowder for $10
per bag. E-mail celticcelebrate@gmail.com or call 541-619-
3274 and place an order.
In March, they will be selling geraniums and fl ower baskets
just in time for Mother’s Day.
Donations can be made online at the Grad Party GoFund-
Me page, www.gofundme.com/mcnarygradparty. Checks made
payable to McNary Graduation Party can be sent to PO Box
21114, Keizer, OR 97303.
Organizers are also looking for prizes in the form of cloth-
ing, electronics, food, music, movies, or anything a high school
graduate might use. Gift cards or gift certifi cates in any amount
are also gladly accepted.

The Oregon Spirit of ‘45
organization will help send
four area high school students
to participate in Memorial
Day ceremonies and parade in
May in Washington, D.C. The
non-profi t group is seeking fi -
nancial donations to help pay
for the expenses of the stu-
dents.
In part, the students will
carry photos of Oregon vet-
erans of World War II in the
parade honoring living and
past members of the greatest
generation.
Landen Van Dyck of Keizer
has been chosen to be one of
the four students to participate.
Van Dyck wrote that he has
been interested in World War
II for as long as he can remem-
ber. He was inspired, in part,
by his grandfather, Marcus
Petterson, who served in both
WWII and the Korean War.
Chosen students must have
a GPA of 3.5 or above.
Oregon Spirit of ‘45,
founded by Keizerite Bar-
bara Jensen, is a program that
honors the achievements of
the World War II generation
so their examples of courage,
self-sacrifi ce and service will
inspire younger generations.
