Tony’s Kingdom moving
By ERIC A. HOWALD

Keizer’s comic book and
pop culture destination, To-
ny’s Kingdom of Comics, is
moving locations.
The store is moving from
its current spot at Creekside
Shopping Center to 3856
River Road N., between
Thai Lotus and Teriyaki Town
in Keizer Village. The last day
at the current location will be
Saturday, Jan. 30. It will re-
open Tuesday, Feb. 2, at Keizer
Village and host a grand re-
opening Saturday, Feb. 6.
Owner Tony Grove said the
move was long in the making.
“The rent is pretty high
and the landlords have
worked with me pretty well,
but not to the point where
the shop can make it. There
also hasn’t been a lot of push
to fi ll up the empty spaces,”
Grove said.
Starting with the closure
of Blockbuster Video several
years ago, the shopping cen-
ter has since lost Radio Shack
and the anchoring grocery
store that was Albertsons and
then, briefl y, Haggen.

debacle was the last straw. My
regular customers kept me
going, but sales during the
holidays tanked because no
one was coming to the cen-
ter. We have a lot of people
who come in and look dur-
ing the year, then come back
during the holiday season.
That didn’t happen this year,”
Grove said.
Grove will be offering sales
throughout the month to re-
duce inventory in anticipa-
tion of the move.
“It’s going to be a slightly
smaller store, but it’s a thriving
spot that will be full of other
stores. People there are happy
with it and the new landlord
is improving several things on
the property,” Grove said.
This is the 10th year in
business for Grove.

laundry appliance needs.
In September, 2013, Nigel Guisinger, became the owner and redubbed the
store Mole’s and Cascade Appliance. Guisinger is a long-time Keizerite and a
McNary High School graduate.
Mole’s and Cascade Appliance is the only retailer of new name-brand
appliances that also services and sells parts to those brands.
The brands found at the store are Amana, Electrolux, Frigidaire, KitchenAid,
Maytag, Samsung, Sharp and Whirlpool.
“We price to match,” said Nigel, sole owner of the company. “We focus on
service and your appliance needs.”
Nigel points out that Mole’s is eager to earn your business.
