Taylor Pawley takes the spotlight as country crooner Patsy Cline in a 2015 production of Always
... Patsy Cline.
In 1961, Louise Seger showed up early
for a Patsy Cline show at Houston’s Esquire
Ballroom.
Seger found in Cline’s music a refl ection of
her own life as a divorced, single mother and
became something of a “superfan” in current
parlance.
Seger met Cline before the show and the
encounter set off a two-year friendship kept
alive through phone calls and letters until
Cline’s death in a plane crash in 1963.
The pair’s story is the basis of the play
Always … Patsy Cline, Keizer Homegrown
Theatre is bringing back the production, which
opens with shows Thursday, Jan. 14 at the Kroc
Center, The run continues Jan. 15, 16, 21, 22
and 23 at the same site. Curtain time is 7 p.m.
each night. Tickets to all shows are $18.
The show proved to be a hit with audiences
when it ran in May 2015.
