Santa breakfast Sunday,
candy cane day Dec. 19
Santa Claus will be busy in Keizer throughout December.
Helping him will be members of the Keizer Fire District.
It all started on Dec. 1 when Santa came to Keizer to help
light the Keizer Christmas tree at Walery Plaza.
Old St. Nick will also be in town for KFD’s Santa Breakfast
on Sunday, Dec. 13.
He will sit for photos with the kids and adults alike for a
nominal fee to support the Keizer Volunteer Firefi ghters As-
sociation. The menu includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, eggs
and ham. Milk and coffee will also be served. The cost of the
breakfast is $5 for adults and $3 for children age 12 and under.
Meal service begins at 7 a.m. and wraps up at 11 a.m. Pictures
with Santa are $2.
It’s an extra busy time in that next week, but we’ll be fl y-
ing him back down on Saturday, Dec. 19, for Keizer’s annual
Candy Cane Day. He’ll come packing sackfuls of candy canes
as the fi re district vehicles carry him from street to street deliv-
ering the contorted treats to all the good little girls and boys.
He will travel every street except short cul de sacs, where
the vehicle will stop short and volunteers will sound the siren
to invite children to come out.
Santa and district volunteers will begin delivering candy
canes at 8:30 a.m. The route is not announced in advance, so
keep an ear out for the music and sirens.

Keizer’s France School of
Dance will hold a performance
at North Salem High School at
2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19. Ad-
mission is either three cans of
food or a $3 cash donation; all
proceeds will benefi t the Keizer
Community Food Bank.
The school will also perform
on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at Talmadge
Middle School in Indepen-
dence.
