Keizertimes owners New look at Porter’s
buy weekly paper
Malheur Media LLC, a division of Wheatland Publishing
Corp., owner of the Keizertimes, purchased the Malheur Enter-
prise in Vale and took over Oct. 1.
Scotta Callister, former Keizertimes publisher and recently re-
tired editor of the Blue Mountain Eagle in John Day, will serve as
publisher of the Enterprise. Lyndon Zaitz, publisher of the Keiz-
ertimes, will serve as general manager, working out of the Keizer
offi ce. Les Zaitz, co-owner of Wheatland Publishing, will serve
in an advisory role.
The Malheur Enterprise, a weekly newspaper, covers the news
of Malheur County, in southeast Oregon along the Idaho bor-
der.

Born in 1928 to Arthur
Leslie and Viola (Martin) Burr,
Art Burr lived in both Seattle
and on Vashon Island prior to
his graduation from the Uni-
versity of Washington in 1952.
He began work then and
through the next 35 years in
the Salem district offi ce of the
Bureau of Land Management,
rising from assistant timber
appraiser to area manager.
He leaves behind his be-
loved wife of 61 years, Phyl-
lis Jean (Ahalt)
Burr
along
with
their
three children:
Linda,
Les-
lie and Eric,
daughter-
in-law
Kara
Burr
Burr and two
grandchildren,
Marcus and Anna.
Art was, at various times,
active in the U.S. Naval Re-
serve, Society of American
Foresters, Chemeketans, First
Congregational Church, Food
Share, Meals-on-Wheels and
the Keizer Community Li-
brary.
In lieu of a formal service,
Art asked for a party. In his
own words: “Hopefully it will
make up somewhat for my
reputation as the world’s No.
1 party pooper.”
The family requests friends,
associates and family members
to join together in a celebra-
tion of life on Oct. 9 from 1
to 3 p.m. on the second fl oor
of the Keizer Heritage Center
(the library building) at 980
Chemawa Road NE in Keizer.
