Howl-A-Palooza
returns Oct. 3
The City of Keizer, Marion
County and the City of Sa-
lem will host the fourth an-
nual Howl-A-Palooza at Keizer
Rapids Park on Saturday, Oct. 3
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Keizer Rapids Park is lo-
cated at 1900 Chemawa Road
North.
Howl-A-Palooza is a free
educational resource fair for
dogs and the people that love
them. The event will feature a
Marion County dog license
amnesty, low cost vaccinations,
veterinary services, training tips,
rescue organizations and ven-
dors with canine-related prod-
ucts. This is a family-oriented
event with games for the chil-
dren and a lot of opportunities
to win prizes or raffl e items.
Activities for the day include
a demonstration by the City
of Keizer K-9 Unit, an agility
course, a rally, raffl es, a costume
contest which begins at noon,
goodie bags for the fi rst 100
participants and much more. All
benefi ts from this event are di-
vided among the participating
rescue groups.
Howl-A-Palooza was origi-
nally developed with an em-
phasis on providing tools for
residents that reinforce the role
healthy dogs play in a healthy
community. Howl-A-Palooza
was developed by the Mid-
Willamette Outreach Group
of Keizer, Salem and Marion
County.
Book sale Oct. 2-3
The Keizer Community Library is hosting its Fall Book Sale
at Keizer City Hall Oct. 2 and 3.
Thousands of books, movies, puzzles and more will be for
sale. Paperbacks will be 50 cents; hardbacks are $1; and most
other items will be $1 or less.
Regular hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, and 9 a.m.
to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3. Bargain time is slated for 3 to 4
p.m. Saturday with items being sold for $4 a bag or $5 per box.
