Van Gansen singled Yrizarri home. The winning pitcher was Luiz Gohara of Everett. Savas was the loser. July 29: Volcanoes 5, Everett 4 (10 innings) It was the fi rst win, against two losses, in an extra-inning game for Salem-Keizer this season. A walk-off single by Miguel Gomez with Ron- nie Jebavy on third base ended the game. The win- ning pitcher, Caleb Smith, struck out four and walked one with no hits for his two innings. The AquaSox, in town to start a fi ve-game series, scored all their runs in the fi rst inning. The Volcanoes came back with one run in the fi rst and scored twice in the fourth before tying the score in the seventh with a home run, his fi rst of 2015, off the rapidly improving bat of John Riley.
