ing McNary’s 50th Anniversary and honoring
Alice Rose Jones, the school’s first and longest-
serving choir director.
The event will feature the Alice Rose Jones
Heritage Choir, a tour-de-force ensemble of
graduates from 1965-2014. Jones will be pres-
ent and will be conducting several numbers
with the expected large reunion choir.
Graduates of McNary who sang in the choir
program during high school, can go to mc-
naryfinearts.org/legacy-choir to sign up for
the event.
It is important that persons interested in par-
ticipating complete the interest form website
so that the program, school and school district

filling out the interest form, participants help
guarantee the event will be produced.
Once the participation minimum has been
met, those interested will be directed to a reg-
istration page with a link to pay for a participa-
tion fee to cover music and hosting fees.
If confirmed, music will be mailed April 1
and part-learning audio tracks will be posted

Shoes being collected
at Countryside Church
for mission trip to Haiti
Countryside
Christian
Church in Keizer conducted a
shoe collection drive recently,
but shoes are still being col-
lected.
The church had a drive
March 7 at the Keizer Albert-
sons (soon to become a Hag-
gen) on River Road North to
raise funds for a mission trip
to Haiti in July.
The group Funds2Orgs
purchased shoes, with church
members using those funds to
finance the trip. Proceeds from
shoe sales are used to feed,
clothe and house families in
places such as Haiti, Honduras
and other nations in Central
America and Africa.
Shoes will continue to be
collected at the church, locat-
ed at 5775 McLeod Lane NE
in Keizer, through April 1.

Keizer theatre troupe
slates 2015 season
Keizer Homegrown Theatre recently announced is slate of
productions for 2015.
In May, the troupe will premiere Always Patsy Cline, written
by Ted Swindley. The play, based on actual events, follows the
country singer’s unlikely friendship with a fan that continued
for many years through letter writing.
The show will open Iris Festival weekend, May 14-16, and
continue the following weekend, May 21-23. The location has
not been set.
The company’s fourth annual Shakespeare in the Park pro-
duction this summer will be A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The
play is the Bard’s take on romantic comedy as characters fall in
and out of love during the course of a weekend. Auditions are
set for May 23 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Keizer Civic Center
Gazebo.
KHT’s final show of the year will be Doubt, A Parable by John
Patrick Shanley. The drama, which tells the story of a priest sus-
pected of illicit behavior, is less about scandal than the pitfalls of
moral certainty. Shanley won the Pulitzer Prize for his script in
2005. The show went on to win a Tony Award.
