Fisher home was the scene of a merry party, when a party of classmates gathered to w ith Nor- val many happy returns of the day, the occasion being his birth­ day. The house was tastefully de­ corated in the High School colors purple and gold: Scotch Broom and Purple Iris being used as the flowers. On the place cards were painted a yellow basket containing purple flowers and small bouquet favors were given. Punch. Homemade candy. Ice Cream and Birthday Cake were served to the guests, after w hich they all attended the show. Get Right With God Rev. R. Bovmer will conduct a Revival meeting in the M. E. Church, beginning on Monday. June 2nd. at 8 p. ni. Singing from 7:45 p. m. We will have a piano for tre occasion. A free seat and a free hymn book for everybody. Peter Deidrich says that the new Ford owners the past week are Jos. Zimmerman of Sublim­ ity: Fred Slater of Mill City and M. M. Gassner o f Kingston. They all bought touring cars. The Hamman Stage has chang­ ed ics schedule this week and is now running on through to Mill City. The Stage now leaves Stayton at 9:45 in the morning and gets bock at 5:35 in the evening. The new schedule ap­ pears in this weeks issue. Last Saturday the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Thoma, Miss Luella. had the misfortune to fall from a small express wagon, breaking her left arm. The injured member is getting along nicely, and will soon be all right again. Dies O f Heart Failure Friends of Oscar M. Aplet, of near Lyons in Linn county, were grieved to learn that he had passed away at his home about 3 o’ clock last Saturday morning. He had been suffering from heart disease for some time and had been unable to work, but was seen in town only a few days prior to his sudden death. Deceased is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Aplet of Stayton. his w ife and one son. Jesse. At the time of his death he was 45 years old. The funeral service was held Monday at Lyons and interment was in the Fox Valley Cemetery. \lr. nnri Mm.
