Peling are busy cutting wood this week. The Lyons Red Cross auxilli- ary is is to meet in the M. E. church during the winter. There are bette * lights and the room is more comfortable to work in on cold days, so all the present members must try to attend and get as many to go with them as is possible. There will be work for all and the work is badly needed. Mrs. Jane Shelton, of Lyons, has completed at this date the largest number of pairs of socks and Mrs. Geo. Johnston has knit ted the most sweaters for the soldiers of any of the ladies be longing to the Lyons auxilliary. George Peling is among those who are helping the cause of the Red Cross. He has donated some wood, which will be very much used and appreciated. Mrs. Schnackenberg called at the F. A. Mariels home Sunday.
