A. Flood and family arrived in Stayton Saturday evening, glad to get back to old Oregon. Mr. Flood, who lived over in Linn Couuty near Kings ton, left for Oklahoma last spring, and after a few months’ stay in that state, went to Maple Falls, Wash., where they lived until his return to Stayton. They occupy the Van Ermen house in the east part of town, and Mr. Flood is at work at the Wilbur Woolen Mills. M ETHO D IST EPIS C O PA L CHURCH The Deeemberdinner at this church will be held on the coming Sunday, when it is hoped that a large number of the members and friends of the church will be present. The sermon theme for the morning service by the pastor will be: "Back to Christ” and the evening sermon will be on "Strange Events or Where Faith Sees the Hand of God in History.” There will be a prelude to the evening sermon on: “ Your duty in the Anti-Tuberculosis Campaign.” “ The Gift of Gifts,” a Christmas mystery play will be presented in this church on Saturday evening precedirg Christmas' F A M ILY R EU N IO N A family reunion was held at the home of W. H. There were many city elections held Monday, Dec. 4. In Stayton Cl D. Stayton and Grant Murphy were elect ed councilmen for two years; Jerome Grier, recorder for one year; C. A. Beauchamp, treasurer for one year; and Chas. Staab, marshal for one year, net fifty per cent of the vote was out as there was but little opposition on the ticket. At Jefferson, Geo. P. Griffith w;-s elected mayor; J. T. Jones, recorder; W. E. Smith, treasurer; J. J. Benson, F. R. Tandy and C. M. Smith, council- men. A very light vote was cast * In Salem E. E. Cooper, for years, constable of the Salem district was elected chief of police; Earl Rice, city recorder; P. V. Johnson and G. C. Mil ler, councilmen.
