In an interview with Mr. Babcock this week he would not say positively that there was any truth in the rumor, neither would he deny it. As the tick et lines up today, U. G. SAWMILL OPEN YARD IN SUBLIMITY SUBLIMITY NOW IS FULLY ELECTRIFIED Never in the history of Sublimity haa there been such a change in the ap- pearance o f the town as there was Sat urday night, April First, when twenty electric street lights threw their bright rays over all the streets o f town. The citizens o f the town have for the past few years tried to the utmost te have lights, hut not until about live months ago really knew that they would be successful. Esrly last fall, C. E. Taylor i f the Stayton Electric Light Co. submitted his proposition in regard to lighting up the town, which was talked over by the people and the council and was finally accepted. As soon as suitable weather came Mr. Taylor had his corps of men setting poles and putting up wires, but on account o f the bad weather they had to cease the balance o f the work until about a month ago. Mr. Taylor then employed Wm. On account o f having electricity, it is to be hoped that in the near future some prospective party may open up a neat theatre where moving pictures may be exhibited. Mr. Taylor, who is manager o f the Stayton Electric Light Co. is an en thusiastic man with plenty o f ambition behind his work, and Sublimity people certainly are thankful tor the quick and good work he has done in electrify ing their town.
