James Cain was born in the province
o f Quebec, on Aug 29, 1834, and was
80 years o f age at hi* death December 27.
A fte r coming to the United States
he lived at New York, California and
Oregon. In 1882 he returned to his
native home and on January 2(5 o i that
year was married to Almira Scriver
Stacy. In 1904 Mr. 8nd Mrs. Cain
moved to Stayton where they have
lived since that time.
Funeral services were held at the
residence at 10 a. m., Tuesday morning
by Rev. L. VV. Chandler o f the Metho­
dist church o f this city assisted by mus­
ic by « male quartet.
The interment was in the City View
Cemetery o f Salem.
