Hezekiah Alfalfa Butterworth
came to town this week.
The
event was not so notable except
that Hez came for the express
purpose of getting a haircut and
a shave. As his hirsute appen
dage had not been pruned for
over ten years there was some-!
thing doing in the tonsorial par
lor.
W h e n t h e barber got |
through with him he looked like

his horse till h e produced an
identification card a n d a flour
sack full of amputated whiskers.

Colonel J. Filibuster Flounce,
the oratorical wind jammer and
promoter was in town last week
and handed out his usual line of
“ bull.” As he did not pay the
office of the Squawker a visit we
cannot tell just at what moment.
he will come back, but that he
will come at some time is cer-l
tain. He intends to put Squab-
