HELTZEL [ seal ] Notary Public My commission expires Jan. 9, 1913. Readers of The Mail may well be puzzled as to the political at titude of our paper. We havn’t any. In the beginning of the presidential campaign, we signed up for plate from each of the three great parties. Republican, Democratic and Progress ive. The matter, which comes ready set up for printing, has been.arriving rather steady by jerks of late and we insert it as it comes. So you may see the rather strange and unique proposition of praise for Col. Roosevelt in one column and similar words of commendation for President Taft in another, while another page may describe Mr. Wilson as the only per son who can save our country from the eternal bow-wows. You may believe all of it, if you like, or you can take it as we do, with a large dose of salt. At any rate we are supplying you with a variety, and some old gink has said that “variety is the spice of human existence. ” — T he E ditors .
