At a meeting of the Ladies Improve ment Club held Tuesday afternoon the matter waa tai.en up and considerable sentiment in favor of an organization was developed. The ladle* are willing to do their share to bring about the or ganization of the business interests once they become satisfiel that the men mean business and will organize to stay organized. By that time it ia thought cer tain the project will be in favorable shape for consummation. At a social session of a number of progressive local business men held Saturday evening, a rousing boost speech was made by F. L. Evans, of Astoria. He toid the Stayton men that they are missing some of the best things that ever happened by not hav ing an organization and a place to dis play the products of this region. He proposed tnat a Commercial Club be formed with the group present as a nucleus, that a two story building be erected for Club purposes, the ground floor to be used as a display room and the second floor for the meetings of the club. The proposition was received with considerable favor and is now be ing considered by the business men. Early developments are expected.
