growers throughout the country have
written that they have in their orch
ards apples which belong to no known
variety. Manager Neely is of the
opinion that many of these apples be
long to some variety with which the
grower is not acquainted and this
contest was arranged to determine
if possible, the names of such apples
aud if they are really new apples to
give them a name.
