CELEBRATE TW ENTY-
FIRST BIRTHDAY.
Monday evening, October 12th a
number o( friend» through the storm
wended their way to the home «if Mi
and Mr» W K Thomas to do honor to
their »on Lou L.
In a short time the large room which
hail been artistically decorated in fall
foliage and flowers by Mrs Thomas
and her daughter Mrs Amy Tb mp>on
of Portlaud, was filled with friends
who showed their appreciation of the
worth of this young man by present
ing him with many . birthday gifts
which carrie«! with them the best
wishes for his future success.
L L is a young man of much capa
bility in business life, and bus a host
of friends who wish him well.
Those things which go to make
a delightful “spread” were served in
an unusually charming manner.
The hours llew swiftly by, and at
last the band of merry makers bade
the kind host and hostess go«xl night,
after wishing their friend Lou L many
happy returns of the evening.

A Volcanic Eruption.
Did you hear the noise caused by
the great “Blow Out” at Horseshoe
Camp No. GOti \V O \V October 12. If
you did not then you missed the best
time of your lives. The first gun w.i-
fired for the Marion County campaign
in this neck of the woods and a gala
time was had until the “wee sum'
hours of the night. A number of
chopjiers from Pine Camp of 8ilverton
were with us also neighbor B N
Rouuds district organizer.
Special prizes were given iu which
neighbor Earl Wright was the lucky
oue for the prize. A special prize given
by B N Rounds was carried u ti by-
neighbor Geo Lentz. The ladies prize
-wan secured by neighbor Ella \\ right.
The evening was sj>ent in music and
«Uiinic stories. We enjoyed the song
of neighbor E A Weddle of Latah
Washington also of neighbors Wood,
Browne, ami others. The chicken
supper was a howling success and all
went away feeling that it was good to
be there. Dont miss our next meet
ing night, there is something doiug.
We are in the campaign and dont
you forget it. Five applications were
secured. Get in the swim neighbor?
of Woodcraft and dont forget that
Horseshoe Camp is always in it, other
camps must run to skin it.
