Myers was recently the pleased recipient of a handsome silver bread tray, as a prise for good work in securing new members in the Women of Woodcraft. Miss Halley Shelley has been a se­ vere sufferer from blood poisoning the past week. It was started from the bite of a small red spider, inflicted on her arm when hanging out clothes. The arm has been very painful, but is improving. K. T. Matthieu has added a hand- some new bar and hack-bar to his place of business. The building waa recently plastered and otherwise im- proved, and he now has as neat a place as can be found in any town of this size. The electric light plant is now run all night. Gardner A Stayton have put on an extra force of hands and are running their plant twenty hours a day. A number of gay, young people were delightfully entertained by Mr. and Mr*. Tate on last Friday evening. A good time was had by all. Guess­ ing the most number of articles which were placed upon a table proved very interesting. A number of young peo­ ple were blindfolded, lead into the din­ ing room, and after completely sur­ rounding the table the blindfold on each was removed while Mrs. Tate counted 10, when the young folks were again blindfolded, lead into another room, given a sea», tablet and pencil, when all articles were recorded that they had in miuu. Goldie Winter won the prize. Parlor games were en­ joyed, music intersjiersed, and social converse ran high. A banquet ended the evening’s pleasure.
