Voting
Oregon elections are vote-by-mail. Anyone who is a resi-
dent of Oregon, a U.S. citizen and at least 18 years old by
Election Day is eligible to vote.
Voter registration cards are available on the Deschutes
County Clerk’s website (www.co.deschutes.or.us), at post
offi ces, Redmond City Hall, the Redmond Public Library or
through the Department of Motor Vehicles when applying
for a Oregon drivers license. (Deschutes County Clerk’s

Redmond Library — Deschutes Public Library
In addition to books (paper and electronic), the library
has internet access, electronic databases for research,
movies and CDs, and many online resources. The library is
open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (827 SW
Deschutes Ave. 541-312-1050, www.deschuteslibrary.org)
Redmond Post Offi ce
The post offi ce is also the local site to obtain U.S. pass-
ports. Open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Sanitary services
Residents inside city limits can take care of water, sewer
and garbage service with one stop at Redmond City Hall,
411 SW Ninth Street. Garbage service is mandatory within

Redmond-area residents outside the city who want
garbage service can contact Republic Services directly.

Dog Licenses
Owners who fail to license their dogs are subject to fi nes.
License application forms are available at veterinary offi ces
and BrightSide Animal Center in Redmond or at www.co.de-

Oregon Driver and Motor Vehicle Services
Drivers who move to Oregon from another state must
obtain an Oregon driver’s license even if an out-of-state
license has not expired. Fee schedules, forms, Oregon
traffi c laws and other information, as well as options to
renew licenses and make address changes, can be found
at the agency’s website. The DMV offi ce is currently open by
