The new brewery opened in a former bank building at 424 NW Fifth St 18 Spokesman file and is known for its excellent cuisine along with beers that range from IPAS to lager and ales. The brewing is planning an expansion to nearby Madras in 2023. www.initiativebrew.com Gompers Distillery The industrial building at 611 NE Jackpine Court is also home to the Gompers Distillery, maker of Gompers Gin. Redmond’s business-friendly policies attracted Gompers Distillery owners Jessica and Michael Hart right off the bat. “I love the vibe and the feel of Redmond,” Jessica Hart said. The couple had been making their signature gin on another distiller’s equipment in Bend for five years. Since leasing space on Jackpine Court, they plan to import their own still from Holland and begin hand production of a variety of spirits.
