Darrell Scott rolls into Redmond
BY BEN SALMON
For The Spokesman
You may not know Darrell Scott’s
name or his face or his albums, but you
know his songs: They’ve been cut by
big-time country stars like Brad Pais-
ley, Faith Hill, The Chicks, Patty Love-
less and Travis Tritt. His best-known
is probably either “You’ll Never Leave
Harlan Alive” (which has been covered
by many artists) or The Chicks’ “Long
Time Gone.”
Of course, you may know Scott’s
name and face and albums, too. The
guy has been recording great songs
and touring all over the country for
30 years, including several previous
stops in Central Oregon. This time,
he’ll play Redmond’s High Desert Mu-
sic Hall as part of the Cascades Radio
Hour concert series.
Darrell Scott: $25, 7:30 p.m. Wednes-
day, Aug. 10, High Desert Music Hall,
818 SW Forest Ave., Redmond, cascades-
radiohour.com.

Meet Alex!
This sweet senior was brought into BrightSide as a stray and was sadly never claimed. Alex
is a gentle giant weighing 72 pounds and has an estimated age of older than seven years. This
sweet boy doesn’t have any history, but is looking for a kind home to settle down and live life
in. This handsome pup doesn’t come with any history, but is eager to meet and make memo-
ries with his furr-ever family! Alex has done amazing with people of all ages as well as pups of
all sizes! We are not sure at this time how Alex would do one on one with cats, but has not re-
acted to seeing cats behind glass here at the shelter.
Alex is eager to settle down for the remainder of his life and would love to meet you!

Charmane is a fine Redmond rodent who loves to play
hide-and-seek, as evidenced by this photo by Angelique
DeRoux. Takes a fast finger on the shutter to capture the
quick chucks that pepper town.
